Sad start but a great finish to the weekend

Don Allen and I represented the troop at Mr. Weihs's funeral. It was really nice and Mrs. Weihs was very glad we were there. The Troop was mentioned during the service. The family was really appreciative of everything the troop has done over the years with their mom and dad.
Saturday brought a more pleasant experience. The troop went camping and a great time was had by all. Mr. Allen came out and taught tote n chip, and Ethan and Aaron came out for supper and then a great campfire that lets us show many of the games many of us have played. All of the Billy Goats were mentioned during the course of the evening. We told stories of how watched Mr. Allen struggle with ' Black Magic' for days, Herb almost throwing the 'utensils' we were using to play crossed and uncrossed, and the exploding cans at 'the Johnson's' was discussed. Triangles and 'Little People' also still have quite a few confused.lol.
We started on the numbers thing Sunday morning { seven is five, five is four, four is perfect and four is everything :-) } We have some new scouts and it was fun. I will need some help remembering other games. We are taking some magazines out next camp out to play the magazine game/ We did play Jack Alive and branded two!!!! We had a great time with it. We also decided it may be time to induct some new members into the 'Loyal Order of the Purple Cow.'
We also made a commitment to continue the Troop Thanksgiving Dinner and invite Mrs. Weihs ( I told her I would kidnap her and take her to the hut). I am not sure if Ethan blogged this as we talked about, but Mr.Allen asked if troop secret handshake has remained a secret?

Thanks for being our loyal 'head of state' Dad! No better troop representatives than you and Mr. Allen. I am sad I missed the campout. Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Yummmm... Thanksgiving dinner. Can't wait.

The only thing secret about the secret troop handshake is that it is not appropriate for confined spaces...

Great post, Lannie! I almost felt like I was there, except my clothes don't smell like smoke (I hate rabbits, I hate rabbits).

Ethan did mention it to the boyz. It has been discussed and it appears that the secret remains safe. As for the campout, E said it was awesome too! Wish I could have been there.

Kilroy was here!
